Eunoia from Lisa Park on Vimeo.
“Eunoia” is a performance that uses my brainwaves – collected via EEG sensor– to manipulate the motions of water. It derives from the Greek word “ey” (well) + “nous” (mind) meaning “beautiful thinking”. EEG is a brainwave detecting sensor. It measures frequencies of my brain activity (Alpha, Beta, Delta, Gamma, Theta) relating to my state of consciousness while wearing it. The data collected from EEG is translated in realtime to modulate vibrations of sound with using software programs. EEG sends the information of my brain activity to Processing, which is linked with Max/MSP to receive data and generate sound from Reaktor.
Unnumbered Sparks
For TED’s 30th anniversary, artists Janet Echelman and Aaron Koblin collaborated to create Unnumbered Sparks, a monumental interactive sculpture in the sky. Choreographed by visitors in real time through their mobile devices, at night the sculpture became a crowd-controlled visual artwork on a giant, floating canvas.
The sculpture spanned 745 feet between buildings in downtown Vancouver, Canada from March 15-22, 2014 . At night, it came alive with illumination. Visitors with smartphones and tablets were able to paint vibrant beams of light across the sculpture at a remarkable scale: small movements on their phones became hundred foot long trails evolving and combining with fellow participants.

In 1992 teen rap duo Kriss Kross gave hip hop fashion an about-face when they served up their unique “krossed out” approach of wearing shirts and pants backwards. The style spread like wildfire across America—especially the now-common backwards baseball cap. But it’s now now, and as the trend toward customization, personalization, and hybridization has grown, so have the myriad ways of switching up the arrangement and function the products in our lives and on our bodies.
The Wave, a rolling network of rust-colored rock formations in the Arizona desert, attracts photographers from all over the world. Gavin Heffernan and Harun Mehmedinović are timelapse filmmakers who saw the massive sandstone canyons as an opportunity to do something new with their art, and thus WAVELIGHT was conceived.
Lucy continues to provoke the biological edge of the body with her new film MAKE YOUR MAKER, taking on the domain of genetic manipulation and human cloning. She delivers a world where clones are edible; their sensory effects absorbed through the body.
